Glass strand materials used in multi-layer combo mat
Glass strand materials used in multi-layer combo mat

Multi-layer combination products designed to reduce lay-up time and improve laminate consistency. Custom configurations with CSM, woven roving, and core materials.

Product Overview

Combo Mat combines multiple fiberglass layers into a single roll, reducing lay-up labor and improving laminate consistency. A common configuration is CSM bonded to woven roving, allowing the laminator to place bulk and directional strength in one step.

Core Mat adds a low-density core material between fiberglass layers to create a sandwich structure. This increases stiffness and insulation while keeping weight low. Core Mat is widely used in boat decks, RV sidewalls, truck panels, and architectural panels.

Product Types

CSM + Woven Roving Combo

Combines chopped strand mat with woven roving for structural applications requiring both bulk and directional strength. The CSM side provides good bonding and surface quality, while the woven roving carries primary loads.

  • • Common weights: 450/300, 600/450, 900/600 g/m²
  • • Reduces lay-up time by 30-40%
  • • Ideal for boat hulls, tanks, and industrial panels

Core Mat (Sandwich Construction)

Features a synthetic or foam core between fiberglass layers. The core separates the skins, dramatically increasing stiffness without adding much weight.

  • • Core options: PET foam, PP honeycomb, synthetic fiber mat
  • • Core thickness: 2-10 mm options
  • • Excellent for large flat panels and lightweight structures
